Eight AHS Students Participate in Honor Band

–Eight members of the Algona High School band participated in the North Central Iowa Bandmasters Association (NCIBA) District Honor Band Festival over the weekend in Mason City. 

The eight AHS students had their performance resumes submitted by their instructors, with the top students being selected to performs. The students started the festival on Saturday with chair auditions, then rehearsed throughout the day in preparation for an evening concert.  

Those selected for membership in the 11th-12th grade Honor Band were Dane Nygaard on the Euphonium, Sarah Mawdsley on the Clarinet, Audrey Snyder on the Clarinet and Ashlyn Waldera on the flute. Selected for the 9th-10th grade Honor Band were Brooklyn Adams on flute, Jozzie Beaver on flute, Abbie Droessler on clarinet, and Hannah Severson on the tuba. 

Those eight performed Saturday on the campus of North Iowa Area Community College in Mason City.
