Auditor’s Office Conducts Post Election Hand Count to Verify Voting Machine Accuracy

–The Kossuth County Auditor’s Office completed an audit of the November 8th election earlier this week to double-check the accuracy of the county’s voting machines.

According to the Auditor’s Office, the Iowa Secretary of State’s Office selected Kossuth County’s Cresco 1 precinct to be recounted by hand. Auditor Tammy Eden says the results of the hand count matched the results from the vote tabulator exactly.

All 99 counties across the state were required to conduct a hand count audit of the Gubernatorial election and the statewide constitutional amendment question, with the Secretary of State’s office selecting the precincts in each county.
