Union Slough Taking Bids for Hay Harvesting

–The Union Slough National Wildlife Refuge is soliciting bids for hay harvesting on a 20-acre unit to be harvested this month. Deputy Refuge Manager Erich Gilbert tells KLGA News this is one way they can assist wildlife in the area.

Sealed bids will be taken until 4 PM on Tuesday, August 16th. Gilbert says anyone interested has a couple of ways to submit their bid.

Gilbert says haying the area will help all sorts of different wildlife species that roam through Kossuth County.

The tract of land is in Section 29 of Ramsey township. If you have questions, contact the Union Slough office by calling 515-928-2523 or go online to www.fws.gov/refuge/union_slough.
