–A traffic stop in the rural Wesley area Thursday night resulted in the arrest of a Webster City man after he tried to flee the scene.
According to the Kossuth County Sheriff’s Office, Deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop near Wesley around 10 PM Thursday. As the Deputy tried to get the vehicle the stop, the driver took off and a short chase ensued.
After Deputies were able to stop the vehicle, they arrested the driver, identified as 36-year-old Jacob Monroe Cullum. Cullum is facing several traffic related charges, including Driving While Barred, Failure to Obey a Stop Sign, Eluding, and Failure to Provide Proof of Insurance.
Besides the traffic related charges, Cullum is facing drug charges including 2 counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, to go along with a charge of Interference with Official Acts.
Cullum was booked into the Kossuth County Jail to await an initial court appearance.
