Law Enforcement Ramping Up Patrols through Holiday Weekend

–Thanksgiving is one of the busiest travel Holidays of the year, and every indication for this year shows plenty of Iowans will be hitting the roadway. Trooper Paul Gardner with the Iowa State Patrol tells KLGA News that his agency will be out in full force through the holiday weekend.

While the weather forecast appears to be ideal for travel, Gardner says that is not a license to speed.

Gardner says they are increasingly dealing with motorists traveling in excess of 100 MPH, including a case in Eastern Iowa over the weekend where a teen driver was stopped going 120.

Gardner says travelers will see an increased presence of Law Enforcement Wednesday through Sunday, as they try and make the weekend as safe as possible on Iowa’s roadways.
