Union Slough to Celebrate National Wildlife Refuge Week

–The Union Slough National Wildlife Refuge will celebrate National Refuge Week by opening their Auto Tour Route. Refuge Manager Ed Meendering tells KLGA News they will open the route starting on Saturday.

Meendering says they have a lot of ducks and geese on the refuge at this time.

Meedering says the wildlife will be more active during certain times of the day.

The auto tour route will be open sunrise to sunset, October 9th through the 17th. The Union Slough Office remains closed at this time as a public health precaution. The tour route begins at the Refuge headquarters, 6 miles east of Bancroft on County Road A42.
