–The 73rd Annual Algona Band Day Festival is set for Saturday after a 1-year hiatus in 2020. Algona Chamber of Commerce Director Vicki Mallory tells KLGA News everyone associated with the festival is excited to be back.
Mallory says the number of bands participating in the festival has dropped through the years.
Mallory says the Band Day Committee will get back to work quickly to see what can be done to improve participation numbers.
The parade begins at 1 PM and will travel along State Street, beginning at the Fire Station and ending at Thorington Street. The parade should last about 2 hours, and then bands will then head to Algona High School for the Field Competition that begins at 5:30 PM.
