K9 Officer Helps Locate Missing Boy

–Kossuth County Law Enforcement officers teamed up to find a missing child Thursday night southeast of Algona.

According to the Kossuth County Sheriff’s Office, Deputies were called to the residence of James and Lisa Rotert along 140th Avenue just after 9 PM on the report of a missing 3-year-old boy. The child had been last seen playing outside just before dark.

Deputies Jake Radamaker and Melissa Hoch responded to scene and requested help from on duty Algona Police Officer Ben Gatton and K9 Officer Puma. The Deputies secured the area where the child was last seen while Puma was sent out to track his sent.

After a few short minutes, Puma was able to locate the child amongst some evergreen trees on the property, and he was quickly reunited with his parents.
