Catholic Daughters Scholarships: Court St. Cecelia CDA #283-Algona IA is offering Two $500 scholarships (one each) to a graduating AHS and BGHS senior from the Class of 2019. There will also be Two $250 Scholarships (one each), to students entering the 9th grade at AHS and BGHS.
To apply for one of the above scholarships, students can contact Noel McLaughlin, Counselor at AHS and John Byrekeland, Counselor at BGHS.

Corwith Public Library “Will the REAL Sherlock Holmes Please Stand Up?”

The Corwith Public Library will be hosting a special guest speaker from the Humanities Iowa. Monica Schmidt will be talking about the great Sherlock Holmes. The Program will take place tonight at 6PM and last for about 60 Minutes. This presentation shows the differences between the literary Holmes and the Holmes of pop culture. It will be filled with movie clips exploring the evolution of the character. This is open and free to the public event, so all is welcome to attend.

The Corwith Public Library has received the funding from Humanities Iowa, a private, non-profit state affiliated of the National Endowment for the Humanities, to host this presentation. A cultural resource for Iowans since 1971, Humanities Iowa offers many cultural and historical programs and grants to Iowa’s Communities.
