–The Algona City Council awarded contracts for a pair of construction projects during their meeting Monday night. City Administrator Jacob Tjaden spoke to the council about the bids received for the Tietz Park Shelter House project.
The council approved awarding the contract to Sande Construction of Humboldt with the original design that includes a newer water fountain that has a bottle filling station. The other contract is for the 2021 Street Improvement Project, where bids came in lower than projected.
Tjaden says they informed property owners along the streets that will be worked on this year.
Mill and overlay work will take place this year on the following streets: North Lowe Street from Call St. to Nebraska St., South Lowe Street from Nebraska St. to College St., South Smith Street, West Overmeyer Drive, South Blackford Street, South Williams Street, West Kennedy Street, West South Avenue, West Riverview Drive, South Moore from College St. to West Overmeyer Drive, South Jones Street and South Wooster.
