Golden Bears Track and Golf Open Season

Track and Field

The Bishop Garrigan boys track and field team began their outdoor season at the Bob Sanger Relays hosted by West Hancock.

Lake Mills took the team title with 130 points.  Team scores:

  1. Lake Mills 130
  2. West Hancock 120
  3. Northwood-Kensett 103
  4. Bishop Garrigan 85
  5. Garner Hayfield Ventura 70
  6. Newman Catholic 64

 

Bishop Garrigan had four athletes/relays place in the top two in their event:

  • Joey Trainer, 200 meter dash, 1st place, 26.01 
  • Quinn Swift, 1600 meter run, 2nd place, 5:13.37 
  • Logan Nemmers, shot put, 2nd place, 40-05
  • 4×100 meter relay (Kellen Murphy, Joseph Meis, Joey Trainer, Caden Roethler), 2nd place, 48.32 

 

Golf

Bishop Garrigan’s girls were victorious in a triangular against Spencer and Humboldt.  Team scores:

  1. Bishop Garrigan 183
  2. Humboldt 214
  3. Spencer 229

 

The Golden Bears had the best two 9 hole scores of the day, with Anna Berke and Annie Burns both posting a 42.

Spencer defeated Humboldt and Bishop Garrigan in boys golf.  Team scores:

  1. Spencer 164
  2. Humboldt 173
  3. Bishop Garrigan 181

 

Jagaar Halverson of Spencer had the best 9 hole score with 37.  Kyle Schaaf of Bishop Garrigan had the second best score with 39.
