Tuesday’s Area Scoreboard: Nelson Leads Bulldogs to Victory

–The Bulldogs were led by senior Noah Nelson, who led the game by scoring 21 points on seven three pointers.  Garrett Goche added 14 points.  Algona was 10/22 from three point range overall, and shot 50% from the field.  The Bulldogs spread the wealth around, as they tallied 19 assists on 22 made baskets.

For the first time this season, the Algona has won two games in a row.  The 61 points were a season high total for the Bulldogs, who had more points than the previous two games combined.  Sophomore Lillian Etherington led the attack with 16 points, as Algona used dominant three point shooting and a 14-2 scoring run to end the first half to blow the game open.  The Bulldogs also did not allow St. Edmond to hit any three pointers.

 -Hayden Thompson and Brandon Harris picked up wins by fall.  Reece Eakins won by decision, and Jake Zabka by major decision for Algona.
