The Kossuth County Sheriff’s office filed charges and arrested two area individuals after a 13 month investigation or an incident reported over a year ago. According to details from the Kossuth County Sheriff’s office, a burglary occurred at a rural Bancroft residence on January 12th, 2020. The residents of the home were not inside as the burglary commenced. Several items were taken including a safe with a large sum of money, jewelry, collector coins, and personal papers and documents. Deputies worked the case and called for assistance from the Division of Criminal Investigation since the investigation involved items that would be discovered in surrounding counties and the state of Minnesota. As a result of the investigation, two men were arrested. 23 year old Weston James Martinson, of Buffalo Center, and 24 year old Gabriel Truman Quisling, of Spirit Lake, were charged with Theft in the Frist Degree (Class A Felony) and Burglary in the Third Degree (Class D Felony). Quisling was also charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia as a result of a search warrant at his residence in January of 2020. Both individuals are in custody at the Kossuth County Jail awaiting initial court appearances.
