Graettinger Man Charged Following String of Car Burglaries

–A Graettinger man is facing multiple charges after being taken into custody over the weekend in Palo Alto County.

According to the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office, Deputies arrested 23-year-old Troy Dean Peterson just before noon on Saturday on a pair of valid warrants.

The first warrants stems from an investigation into a string of car burglaries in Emmetsburg and Graettinger that occurred back in September. As a result of the investigation, Peterson is charged with one count of Ongoing Criminal Conduct, a Class B Felony and 10 counts of 3rd Degree Burglary, an aggravated misdemeanor.

The second warrant stemmed from a separate theft investigation dating back to September as well, as Peterson is charged with 5th degree theft in connection with that case.

Peterson was booked into the Palo Alto County Jail to await an initial court appearance.

The Iowa State Patrol assisted the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s office with the investigations.
