Algona Kmart Store to Close

–Algona’s Kmart store will be closing for good in the next couple of months.

Employees were informed Tuesday of the store’s closing as liquidation sales will begin in the next couple of weeks. A sign posted inside the store states that due to the store’s impending closing, they will no longer be accepting new law-away items.

Sears announced another round of Kmart store closings in Mid-October, but many of the locations were not revealed at that time.

Several Kmart stores across Iowa, including the Webster City and Cherokee locations, were closed earlier this year, leaving only the Algona and Charles City locations open in the state.

This is so sad, but knew it was coming. It is 100% corporates fault. They made stupid mistake after mistake. Smaller city stores were the money makers, but even profitable stores like Webster City were axwd.
